Several Washington DC libraries will hold an Open House on Monday, May 5 so that ARLIS/NA attendees will be able to drop by and view special collections and exhibits. All participating libraries are within a two-mile radius of each other and are easily accessed by public transportation. Participating libraries will display art-related materials such as collections of artist books, Fine Press collections, Fine arts, Artist file materials, and memorabilia. Participating institutions include the
Folger Shakespeare Library,
Freer/Sackler Gallery Library, Hirshhorn Museum Library,
Library of Congress,
National Gallery of Art Library,
National Museum of African Art Library,
National Museum of Women in the Arts Library,
Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery Library, and the
United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Library.
